The following question was sent
to the P&PDL
diagnosticians here at Purdue University:
Question: This spring we planted new blueberry plants we
planted them in peat moss and soil mixture some of the plants have
developed red spots and blotches on the leaves the problem does
not seem to be getting any worse please send us any information
you might have.
Answer: There could be several different things
that could be causing the spots on your blueberries. It is difficult
to diagnose via the computer without seeing a sample. Before control
recommendations are given, it is very important to identify the
problem correctly. Therefore, we are not able to answer your specific
question. You are welcome to submit
a sample to
our lab and we will diagnose the problem for a fee of $11 within
Indiana, $22 outside of Indiana. Make checks payable to Purdue
University. You can find a copy of our sample submission form on
our homepage, or you can write a letter describing your problem.
The more information you can give us, the better. Information such
as variety, when noticed the problem, how old are the plants. For
more information on submitting a sample, please call (765)-494-7071
or fax (765)-494-3958 our office. Mail your sample to:
