Think petunias are only useful as bedding plants?

The vining types such as Wave cultivars make excellent hanging basket subjects. But the secret to success is regular fertilization all summer long. At least once per week, use a water soluble fertilizer (at manufacturer’s recommended rate) in your irrigation water. Water thorougly, so that at least some water runs through the basket. That will keep those petunias flowering profusely right up until frost.
